It took courage to publish my story, a lot of courage. I had friends who didn’t even know what happened to me, why? Because while my past doesn’t define me, it has shaped me. I never felt it was necessary to tell everyone what happened to me, frankly most people didn’t need to know. I was also terrified. I was terrified to post my blog. I thought that one day if I shared my story, the man who attacked me would find me.
I’m standing with courage, by publishing my story and putting my face behind it, I’m standing behind my story. It just took me some time to get here.
So now, hi! My name is Tamara and I am the writer behind Awaken Empowerment. You may have read my story, if not I encourage you to. Thank you for joining and supporting me in this journey. Few facts about me:
I have four brothers. I am probably the most strong willed out of the five of us, even if I am the smallest in physical size.
I live in Colorado, and I have lived here since I was 2 (minus when I went to Purdue). I don’t think I can imagine living anywhere else.
I can be slow to warm up to new people. I unfortunately have been told I have “RBF” but as soon as someone new says hello, I am nothing but smiles! People constantly tell me I’m nicer than I look, I take it for what it is.
I’m an old soul and always have been, I’m also proud of it.
I am not great at or a lover of social media - I am working on that. I promise.
I have 2 dogs, pictures to come of them soon.
Please send me a message and introduce yourself. I love to meet new people and would love to discover how you found my page. Since COVID and my dad’s unexpected passing, I haven’t been as active with my blog. But I promise that is changing. I can’t wait to share more content with you soon, and look forward to connecting with each and every one you.
